RTL(+)-Ascorbic acid sodium salt is the L-isomer of ascorbic acid. It is an essential nutrient for humans and animals, and a cofactor for many enzymes involved in cellular metabolism. Ascorbic acid is an effective metal chelator, which can be used to treat infectious diseases such as tuberculosis. L(+)-Ascorbic acid sodium salt has been shown to have antioxidant properties. It also has antineoplastic activity against skin tumors when used at optimum concentration.||Synonyms:|Vitamin C sodium salt ; (+)-Sodium L-ascorbate; Sodium Ascorbate; Sodium (2R)-2-[(1S)-1,2-dihydroxyethyl]-4-hydroxy-5-oxo-2,5-dihydrofuran-3-olate; 3-Oxo-L-gulofuranolactone Sodium; ASK-P 10KR; Ascorbicin; Ascorbin; CK 40; CK 40 (ascorbate); Cebitate; Cenolate; E 301; E 301 (Antioxidant); HBL 508; Monosodium L-Ascorbate; Monosodium Ascorbate; Natrascorb; Natri-C; Sodascorbate||CAS No:|134-03-2||Molecular Formula:|C6H7O6•Na||Molecular Weight:|198.11||Appearance:|White or off-white crystalline powder ||Purity:|99.0-101.0% (Titration anhydrous basis)||Melting Point:|220°C (dec.)
