Beta-Amylase Assay Kit is an assay kit designed for the detection and quantification of Beta-Amylase activity in plant tissue using a microplate reader. Reducing sugars react with 3,5-dinitrosalicylic acid under heat to produce a brown-red substance. Beta-amylase can be inactivated by heat. The enzyme activity of total amylase and alpha-amylase is determined, following which the activity of beta-amylase is calculated indirectly.
