General purpose medium for fungi cultivation. Corn Meal Agar is valuable for morphologic differentiation of many yeast-like organisms. It suppresses vegetative growth of many fungi while stimulating sporulation. Corn Meal Agar allows Candida albicans to produce chlamydospores which is one of the best criterion for identification.
