Applications | Camostat mesilate (500 μmol/L) inhibited generation of transforming growth factor β (TGF-β) by suppressing plasmin activity and reduced the activity of TGF-β, which blocked in vitro activation of HSCs. |

Applications | Camostat mesilate (1 ~ 2 mg/g of diet) markedly attenuated an increase in hepatic plasmin and TGF-β levels, HSC activation, and hepatic fibrosis without apparent systemic or local side effects in porcine serum-treated rats. Therefore, camostat mesilate prevented porcine serum-induced rat hepatic fibrosis via a profound reduction in TGF-β generation |
