CD68 is an integral membrane glycoprotein of ~110kD also known as Macrosialin or Gp110. CD68 is predominantly expressed on the intracellular lysosomes of macrophages/monocytes, including Kupffer cells, microglia, histiocytes and osteoclasts, and is expressed to a lesser extent by dendritic cells and peripheral blood granulocytes. Elevated expression of CD68 has been demonstrated on CD34+ cells in various human malignancies, including Acute Myeloid Leukemia. In immunohistochemical studies, CD68 can be used to aid in the identification of blastic NK lymphomas, some B cell lymphomas, and to help diagnose disorders relating to macrophage abnormalities, including malignant histocytosis and Gaucher’s disease.||Applications: |Suitable for use in Flow Cytometry. Although not tested, this clone has also been reported as being suitable for use in immunoprecipitation|studies. Other applications not tested. ||Recommended Dilution: |Flow Cytometry: Use 10ul to label 10e6 cells in 100ul. Membrane permeabilization is required for this application.|Optimal dilution determined by the researcher||Recommended Negative Controls: |Mouse IgG1 Negative Control: FITC||Storage and Stability:|Store product at 4°C if to be used immediately within two weeks. For long-term storage, aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing and store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable at -20°C for 12 months after receipt. Dilute required amount only prior to immediate use. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. |Caution: FITC conjugates are sensitive to light. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
