4°C Do Not FreezeMyogenin is a member of the MyoD family of myogenic basic helix-loop-helix (bHLH) transcription factors that also includes MyoD, Myf-5, and MRF4 (also known as herculinor Myf-6). MyoD family members are expressed exclusively in skeletal muscle and play a key role in activating myogenesis by binding to enhancer sequences of muscle-specific genes. The regulatory domain of MyoD is approximately 70aa in length and includes both a basic DNA binding motif and a bHLH dimerization motif. MyoD family members share about 80% aa homology in their bHLH motifs. Anti-myogenin labels the nuclei of myoblasts in developing muscle tissue, and is expressed in tumor cell nuclei of rhabdomyosarcoma and some leiomyosarcomas. Positive nuclear staining may occur in Wilms' tumor.||Applications:|Suitable for use in FLISA, Western Blot, Flow Cytometry (Not Tested), Immunofluorescence, Immunoprecipitation and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested.||Recommended Dilution:|Flow Cytometry (Not Tested): 0.5-1ug/10e6 cells|Immunofluorescence: 1-2ug/ml|Western Blot: 0.5-1ug/ml|Immunohistochemistry (Frozen & Formalin fixed paraffin embedded): 0.5-1ug/ml/30min @ RT|Immunoprecipitation: 1-2ug/500ug protein lysate|Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.||Positive Control:|Rh-30 cells. Skeletal muscle or rhabdomyosarcoma||Storage and Stability:|May be stored at 4°C before opening. DO NOT FREEZE! Stable at 4°C as an undiluted liquid. Dilute only prior to immediate use. Stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. APC is light sensitive.||Note: Applications are based on unconjugated antibody.
