4°C Do Not FreezeCalreticulin was originally identified as a Ca2+ binding protein in the muscle sarcoplasmic reticulum. Since its original discovery, it has been found in high abundance in non-muscle tissue. Calreticulin has the ability to bind Ca2+ with high capacity but low affinity. The exact function of calreticulin is not yet known, however recent reports suggest that it may play a role in nuclear hormone receptor gene transcription and may also act as a chaperone protein. Calreticulin is 90% conserved among human, mouse, rat, rabbit and Aplysia.||Applications: |Suitable for use in Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications have not been tested.||Recommended Dilutions:|Immunohistochemistry: Detects calreticulin in tissue sections and cells. |Optimal diltions to be determined by the researcher.||Included Positive Antigen Control: |F4209: Fibroblast Cell, 3T3/A31 lysate. Add 2.5ul 2-mercaptoethanol/100ul of lysate. Boil for 5 minutes to reduce the preparation. Load 20ug of reduced lysate per lane for Western Blot analysis.||Storage and Stability:|Store product at 4°C in the dark. DO NOT FREEZE! Stable at 4°C for 12 months after receipt as an undiluted liquid. Dilute required amount only prior to immediate use. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. Caution: APC conjugates are sensitive to light. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial prior to removing the cap. ||Note: Applications are based on unconjugated antibody.
