-20°CThe ion channels activated by glutamate are divided into two classes. Those that are sensitive to N-methyl-D-aspartate (NMDA) are designated NMDA receptors (NMDAR) while those activated by kainate and a-amino-3-hydroxy-5-methyl- 4-isoxalone propionic acid (AMPA) are known as kainate/AMPA receptors (K/AMPAR). NMDA receptors are among the most studied receptors in neuroscience. They are involved in neuronal cell development and plasticity, a cellular correlate for learning. NMDA receptors are implicated in several disorders of the central nervous system including epilepsy and ischemic neuronal cell death. NMDA receptors appear to be a target for ethanol at physiological concentrations which may play a significant role in alcoholism.||Applications:|Suitable for use in Immunohistochemistry, Immunocytochemistry, Light and Electron Microscopy, ELISA and RIA. Other applications have not been tested.||Recommended Dilution:|Immunohistochemistry (Paraffin): Use standard deparaffinization techniques on tissue specimens. Pretreat tissues using a citrate buffer, pH 6.0 and high heat epitope retrieval techniques. Do not allow tissues to dry out during the staining procedure.|Optimal dilution determined by the researcher.||Immunohistochemistry Control:|rat brain and spinal cord tissue||Storage and Stability:|Store product at 4°C if to be used immediately within two weeks. For long-term storage, aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing and store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable at -20°C for 12 months after receipt. Dilute required amount only prior to immediate use. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. Note: Sodium azide is a potent inhibitor of peroxidase and should not be added to HRP conjugates. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.||Note: Applications are based on unconjugated antibody.
