Interleukins

Interleukins are a group of cytokines that were first seen to be expressed by white blood cells (leukocytes= -leukin) as a means of communication (inter-).

Among these cytokines, IL-3 induces differentiation and proliferation of myeloid progenitor cells and IL-23 increases angiogenesis but reduces CD8 T-cell infiltration.
