Acid Phosphatase (ACP) Assay Kit is an assay kit designed for the detection and quantification of Acid Phosphatase activity in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates and urine using a spectrophotometer. Acid phosphatase decomposes disodium phenyl phosphate under acidic conditions to produce free phenol and phosphoric acid. Phenol reacts with 4-aminoantipyrine in alkaline solution, and oxidizes to a derivative of red quinone in the presence of potassium ferricyanide. The activity of acid phosphatase can be calculated by measuring the OD value at 520 nm. This kit is also available for the Microplate reader detection - abx294068.
