Datasheet SDSMacConkey agar is a selective and differential culture media designed to isolate Gram-negative and enteric bacilli and differentiate them based on lactose fermentation.

Directions for use | For the preparation of 1 liter culture media: 1. Suspend 50 g of MacConkey Agar in 1 liter of distilled or demineralized water. 2. Heat to boiling to dissolve the medium completely. 3. Sterilize by autoclaving at 121 °C for 15 minutes. The appearance of the medium is clear and red-brown to dark-red. 4. Cool to 45 - 50 °C. 5. Mix well before pouring into sterile Petri plates. 6. Leave to gel with the lid slightly open. |
