Anti-Arginase 1 CE/IVD for IHC - Gastrointestinal pathology
Arginase-1, encoded by the ARG1 gene, is a cytosolic metalloenzyme mainly expressed in hepatocytes. It plays a key role in the urea cycle by catalyzing the hydrolysis of arginine to ornithine and urea. Arginases-1 and 2 are isoenzymes that differ in their location, their regulation and possibly their function. Argininaemia is an inherited autosomal recessive disorder characterized by an accumulation of arginine and ammonia in the blood. Anti-Arginase-1 antibodies help to visualize hepatocytes in normal tissues and granulocytes in the peripheral blood. Arginase-1 is a sensitive and specific marker for the identification of hepatocellular carcinoma.
Antibodies are intended for qualified laboratories to qualitatively identify by light microscopy the presence of associated antigens in sections of formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded tissue sections using IHC test methods. The use of these antibodies is indicated, following the differential clinical diagnosis of diseases, to facilitate the identification and differentiation of hepatocellular carcinoma in the context of antibody groups, the patient's clinical history, and other evaluated diagnostic tests. by a qualified pathologist.
