Optimum Growth® bi-directional transfer plugs (patented) with descending stem use a peristaltic pump for easy aseptic transfer of media or cells into and/or out of cell bags, bioreactors and flasks.

Specific bi-directional transfer plugs work with Thomson Optimum Growth® 1.6 L, 2.8 L and 5 L flasks (patented) and your peristaltic pump. Simply replace the vented cap included with each bottle with the appropriate transfer cap and connect it to the container of your choice.

• In the fume hood, replace the vial vent plug with the correctly sized bi-directional transfer plug.
• Connect to your receiving vessel either by Tube Fusing or using an available Luer Lock option.
• Place the silicone tube into the peristaltic pump head
• Liquid can then be pumped into or out of the vial

The two connection options, male luer lock and fuse tube, are essential components of the transfer system combined with Optimum Growth® bi-directional transfer caps.

By combining these options with the bi-directional transfer caps, you benefit from a complete and versatile system for aseptic media or cell transfers, meeting the specific needs of your experimental applications.

The fuse tube connection offers a solution where tubes can be fused together to provide a hermetic connection. This option is often preferred in situations where a permanent connection is required, ensuring optimum tightness throughout the transfer process.
