Components:
45x Ab-conjugated beads (S5P12 - human IL-13 Ab-bead).
25x Biotin-detection Ab (human IL-13 Biotin-dAb).
Lyophilized Standard Mix-Human Group 2 Panel A, 10-Plex.
Application: Optimal antibody pair and antigen standard for assaying human IL-13. Can be multiplexed with other analytes in Human Group 2. To be used in conjunction with the AimPlex NR Basic Kit (96 Tests PN: P100001, 32 Tests PN: P100001T) and a diluent kit. Refer to the AimPlex Multiplex Immunoassay User Manual and kit inserts for the assay procedure.
Storage: 2-8 C in the dark.
Important: Sodium azide forms explosive compounds with heavy metals. These products contain <0.05% (w/w) azide which with repeated contact with lead and copper commonly found in plumbing drains may result in the buildup of shock sensitive compounds. Dispose in accordance with regulations from your institute.
For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures.

Description:
Interleukin 13 (Accession P35225) is a cytokine primarily secreted by Th2 cells, though many cell types may also secrete it. As IL-13 has 25% sequence homology and shares secondary structural features with IL-4, they have similar effects on hematopoietic cells. IL-13 has anti-inflammatory properties that allow it to function as a mediator to allergic inflammation. IL-13 is important in airway remodeling and mucus production and can induce CC-chemokines in lung tissue. Due to its role in apoptosis and tumor cell growth, IL-13 effector function may have effects on B cell chronic lymphocytic leukemia and Hodgkin’s disease. IL-13 is increasingly being associated with diseases in the gut. It may play a role in innate immune responses and have associations with ulcerative colitis, eosinophilic esophagitis, and fibrosis.
