| Directions for use | HEPES (10 mmol/L) buffer preparation method: Weigh 2.383 g of HEPES and add fresh triple distilled water to make volume upto 1 L. Sterilise by filtration, aliquot and store at 4 °C. Use aseptic techniques to avoid contamination. For the use as a buffer in cell culture medium, if HEPES is exposed to light for more than 3 hours, it may undergo oxidation to produce hydrogen peroxide, which has a toxic effect on cells. |
