    Product Description

Rabbit polyclonal antibody raised against synthetic peptide of PDK1.

    Immunogen

A synthetic peptide corresponding to residues within 300-400 at internal region of human PDK1.

    Host

    Rabbit

    Reactivity

    Human

    Specificity

By Western blot a band is seen at ~49 kDa, representing PDK1 protein. There are also two higher and one lower non-specific molecular weight bands. The observed molecular weight of the protein may vary from the listed predicted molecular weight due to post translational modifications, post translation cleavages, relative charges, and other experimental factors.

    Gene Summary

Pyruvate dehydrogenase (PDH) is a mitochondrial multienzyme complex that catalyzes the oxidative decarboxylation of pyruvate and is one of the major enzymes responsible for the regulation of homeostasis of carbohydrate fuels in mammals. The enzymatic activity is regulated by a phosphorylation/dephosphorylation cycle. Phosphorylation of PDH by a specific pyruvate dehydrogenase kinase (PDK) results in inactivation.
