-20°CThis lectin is a 116,000 to 125,000 molecular weight glycoprotein with an isoelectric point of pH 5.4. Two subunits of about 60,000D are produced in SDS gels, dissociating into 4 chains of about 30,000D in the presence of reducing agents. The binding specificity is not completely clear but this lectin appears to preferentially bind carbohydrate structures terminating in N-acetylgalactosamine linked alpha or beta to the 3 or 6 position of galactose. Used to fractionate lymphocyte populations, the lectin although not mitogenic, elicits the production of lymphokines from murine splenocytes. Fluorescein labeled Wisteria Floribunda Lectin is produced by using the highest quality fluorescein isothiocyanate, our affinity-purified lectin, and special conjugation procedures. Fluorescein labeled Wisteria Floribunda Lectin has an appropriate number of fluorochromes bound which provide the maximum fluorescence and optimum staining characteristics for this particular lectin. This lectin is supplied essentially free of unconjugated fluorochromes and inactive lectin. Accompanying each fluorescent lectin is an analysis data sheet summarizing the results of our quality control tests and providing pertinent information on the product. All of these reagents are supplied as solutions perserved with sodium azide.||Applications: |Suitable for use in FLISA. Other applications not tested.||Recommended Dilution:|Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.||Inhibiting/Eluting Sugar: |200mM N-acetylgalactosamine||Excitation:|495nm ||Emission:|515nm||F/P (molar):|5.2||Storage and Stability:|Store product at 4°C if to be used immediately within two weeks. For long-term storage, aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing and store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable at -20°C for 6 months after receipt. Dilute required amount only prior to immediate use. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. |Caution: FITC conjugates are sensitive to light. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
