Dry baths
Dry baths, also known as heating blocks, are used to maintain a constant temperature during the PCR reaction. Dry baths typically consist of a metal block with wells to hold PCR tubes, and they can be set to specific temperatures ranging from ambient temperature to high temperatures required for PCR denaturation. The ability to maintain a constant temperature is essential for successful PCR amplification.
