dNTP
dNTPs, or deoxynucleoside triphosphates, are essential reagents for polymerase chain reaction (PCR). They are the building blocks of DNA synthesis during PCR and serve as the substrates for the DNA polymerase enzyme. The four types of dNTPs are dATP, dCTP, dGTP, and dTTP, which are incorporated into the growing DNA chain during PCR amplification.
The quality and purity of dNTPs are critical for the success of PCR reactions. Impurities, such as DNA polymerase inhibitors, can interfere with PCR amplification and affect the specificity and sensitivity of the assay. Therefore, it is essential to use high-quality dNTPs that are free of contaminants and have a high degree of purity.
