UltraCruz^® Polyvinylidene Fluoride (PVDF) Membrane is unsupported and naturally hydrophobic with a high retention capacity matrix for protein and nucleic acid binding, preventing material from passing through the membrane during electrophoretic transfer. Hydrophobicity of PVDF membrane promotes strong binding affinity and high signal with low background. When destaining with high concentration of methanol, PVDF membrane will not shrink, degrade or distort. It's chemical resistance to a variety of organic and inorganic acids, durability and physical strength can withstand harsh reagents such as Western Blot stripping buffer solvent, which makes it ideal for reprobing and labeling additional proteins. PVDF Transfer Membrane is suitable for Western blots, immunoblotting, and solid phase assays.
