Intended Use:|Catalase (CAT) is a kind of iron porphyrin-based binding enzyme, composed of four identical subunits of tetramerase. It has 4 molecules of heme as its auxiliary base. The molecular weight of CAT is about 24KD. CAT can rapidly remove hydrogen peroxide, the toxic substances of metabolism byproduct. CAT, with GSH-Px, can provide protection to thiolase, membrane protein and hydrogen peroxide dissociation.||Test Principle:|The principle of Catalase (CAT) detection kit (ammonium molybdate microplate method) for the detection of serum or plasma samples is adapting the color change during the reaction between the remaining H2O2 and ammonium molybdate, forming a stable yellow composite under optimized enzyme reaction conditions. The absorbance of yellow shades measured by a microplate reader at 405nm were inversely proportional to the enzyme activity. The detection of this enzyme is valuable for the study of free radical metabolic balance, anti-aging and tumor pathogenesis. 50 CAT assay kit can detect 23-25 samples. The kit is for research use only and should not be used for clinical diagnosis or other purposes.||Kit Components (see Protocol for final kit quantities):|Reagent 1,|H2O2 base solution, 2x1mL||Reagent 2,|CAT Assay buffer, 100mL||Reagent 3,|MO coloring solution, 10mL||Manual, 1xcopy||Storage and Stability:|Store powder at 4°C liquid at -20°C. Store other components at 4°C. Stable for at least 6 months For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
