Datasheet SDSThe Bacteriological agar is a hydrocolloid powder, obtained from seaweed. It is used as a gelling agent in microbiological culture media characterized by the absence of inhibitory agents.

Directions for use | For the preparation of 1 liter culture media: 1. Define the quantity required to prepare 1 liter of culture media. Generally, 15 grams of bacteriological agar for 1 liter of culture media (1.5% solution). 2. Add the necessary supplements and distilled or deionized water. At this point, DO NOT add the antibiotic. 3. Heat until dissolved. 4. Autoclave for 15 minutes at 121° C. 5. If necessary, allow to cool to approximately 60°C and add the antibiotic. Homogenize. 6. Add the culture media to the petri dishes. 7. Allow to cool and gel with the lid slightly open. 8. To store, stack the inverted plates and leave at 4° C. |
