Calnexin (CNX), an unglycosylated resident ER transmembrane protein, together with Calreticulin (CRT), plays a key role in glycoprotein folding and its control within the ER, by interacting with folding intermediates via their monoglucosylated glycans. Calnexin associates with newly synthesized monomeric glycoproteins and only recognizes glycoproteins when they are incompletely folded. Furthermore, Calnexin has been demonstrated to function as a molecular chaperone capable of interacting with polypeptide segments of folding glycoproteins.||Applications:|Suitable for use in Western Blot, Immunocytochemistry, Immunofluorescence, Immunoprecipitation, Immunohistochemistry and Electron microscopy. Other applications not tested.||Recommended Dilutions:|Western Blot: 1:1000 (Colorimetric)|Immunohistochemistry: Paraffin sections|Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.||Positive Control:|Heat Shocked HeLa Cell Lysate||Storage and Stability:|May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
