C3c is the major fragment resulting from C3 cleavage by C3 convertase and factor I. It is composed of an intact beta chain bound to two fragments of the alpha chain. ||Applications: |Suitable for use in FLISA, Immunoelectrophoresis and Double Radial Immunodiffusion. Other applications not tested.||Recommended Dilution:|Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.||Excitation: |554nm ||Emission: |573nm||Molar Ratio: |~1.4||Storage and Stability:|Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Stable for 12 months at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. Rhodamine conjugates are sensitive to light.

In old serum containing totally activated C3 a single|precipitin line in the alpha-2 region is obtained. Can also react with fragments C3b, C3bi and|smaller fragments, since they all carry antigenic determinants of the C3c domain.
