Ethanol Assay Kit can be used to detect Ethanol in serum, plasma and wine using a microplate reader. Ethanol dehydrogenase can catalyze the oxidative dehydrogenation of ethanol to acetaldehyde, and NAD+ is reduced to produce NADH. NADH, under the action of 1-mPMS, transfer electrons to WST-8 to produce a yellow reaction product, which has a characteristic absorption peak at 450 nm. The ethanol content can be quantified by measuring the absorbance at 450 nm.
