Blood
The brain needs a constant supply of oxygen and nutrients to function properly, which is provided by the blood vessels that cross the blood-brain barrier. These blood vessels are essential for supplying brain cells with oxygen and glucose, which are needed to produce energy and maintain normal brain function.
Blood is a vital liquid pumped by the heart through a complex network of blood vessels to supply these nutrients to all the cells in the body. Blood is made up of different elements, including red blood cells, white blood cells and platelets, as well as plasma, which is the liquid in which these elements are immersed. Red blood cells carry oxygen, white blood cells help fight infection and platelets help blood clotting.
