4°C Do Not FreezeAntithrombin III (ATIII) is a plasma protein synthesized in the liver. Normal plasma levels are 115-160mg/L. ATIII consists of a single polypeptide chain and has a molecular weight of 58kD. ATIII is a serine protease inhibitor and through this action regulates blood coagulation. ATIII also has a heparin binding site and in the presence of heparin the inhibition of thrombin, factors IXa, Xa and XIa is enhanced 1000-fold.||Applications:|Suitable for use in Radial Immunodiffusion (RID), Double Diffusion and Immunoelectrophoresis. Other applications have not been tested.||Recommended Dilutions:|RID: 6ul antiserum/cm2 gel vs. 5ul neat - 1:10 dilution human plasma. |Double Diffusion: 10ul antiserum vs. 5ul plasma |IEP: 100ul antiserum vs. 5ul plasma gives single arc.|Note: The use of 3% PEG 6000 with 1.2% agarose in a suitable buffer (such as TBE or Tris-barbital pH > 8.2) is recommended.|Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.||Storage and Stability:|Store product at 4°C in the dark. DO NOT FREEZE! Stable at 4°C for 12 months after receipt as an undiluted liquid. Dilute required amount only prior to immediate use. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. Caution: PE conjugates are sensitive to light. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial prior to removing the cap.||Note: Applications are based on unconjugated antibody.
