Recombinant Human IFN-β (HEK 293) Structure

Quality Control & Documentation
Biological Activity

Expression system: HEK 293
Purity: SDS-PAGE, & GT; 95%
Endotoxin: determination of protein by gel coagulation & LT; 0.2 EU/mu g
Apparent molecular weight: ~23 kDa, sdS-PAGE under reduction conditions
Storage and stability: After receiving, the product remains stable at temperatures below -70°C for up to 6 months. After recombination, the product should be stable at 4°C for 1 week or -20°C for 3 months. For long-term preservation, carrier protein (e.g. 0.1% BSA) is recommended. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Biological activity: Interferon β (IFN-β) acts via STAT1 and STAT2 and is known to up-regulate and down-regulate a variety of genes, most of which are involved in antiviral immune responses. It is a member of type I interferon, which includes IFN-α, -β, τ and -ω. IFN-β plays an important role in inducing nonspecific resistance to a wide range of viral infections. It also affects cell proliferation and modulates immune responses.
