DEPC
DEPC (diethylpyrocarbonate) is a commonly used reagent in molecular biology, including PCR reactions. Its powerful RNAse inhibition properties make it effective for removing RNA contamination from the PCR reaction mix. High-quality DEPC-treated water is available for use in a variety of PCR applications, including RT-PCR, cDNA synthesis, and other applications where RNA contamination is a concern. DEPC-treated water is treated with DEPC to irreversibly modify and inactivate any RNAse enzymes present in the water. It is an essential reagent for researchers performing PCR reactions and other molecular biology techniques.
