Creatine Kinase Assay Kit is an assay kit designed for the detection and quantification of Creatine Kinase activity in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates and cell lysates using a spectrophotometer. Creatine kinase (CK) catalyzes the reaction between creatine phosphate and ADP to produce creatine and ATP. Hexokinase catalyzes the reaction of creatine and glucose to produce glucose-6-phosphate. Glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase (G-6-PD) catalyzes the reaction between glucose-6-phosphate and NADP+ to produce NADPH which has a maximum absorption peak at 340 nm. The CK activity can be calculated by measuring the absorbance at 340 nm.
