Spinal muscular atrophy (SMA) is a common neurodegenerative disease caused by deletion or loss-of-function mutations of the survival of motor neurons (SMN) protein. SMN is complexed with several proteins including Gemin2 Gemin3 and Gemin4 and plays important roles in small nuclear ribonucleoprotein (snRNP) biogenesis and in pre-mRNA splicing. The hnRNP Q proteins interact with SMN they are required for efficient pre-mRNA splicing in vitro. The hnRNP Q proteins may provide a molecular link between the SMN complex and splicing.||Applications: |Suitable for use in Immunofluorescence, Flow Cytometry, ELISA, Western Blot, Immunoprecipitation, Immunocytochemistry. Other applications not tested.||Recommended Dilution:|Flow Cytometry: 1ug for 10e6 cells.|Western Blot: Use at an assay dependent dilution. Detects a band of ~55,60,70kD (predicted molecular weight: 70kD).|Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.||Hybridoma: |Sp2/0 myeloma cells with spleen cells from Balb/c mice.||Storage and Stability:|May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
